Julia Marks RN CLNC received her ADN (Associates Degree – Nursing) in 1995 in Kansas City Missouri. She successfully completed her AORN training for the Operating Room in 2001. In 2010, she completed the certification program from The Vickie Milazzo Institute for Legal Nurse Consultants and opened her business, Copperline Legal Nurse Consulting, here in Tucson in April 2011.

Julia has been a Registered Nurse for more than 16 years and spent her early years of nursing caring for patients on the step down trauma unit, med/surg unit and high-risk antepartum unit at Truman Medical Center – West, a Level 1 hospital, in Kansas City Missouri. In the summer of 1999, she moved to Tucson Arizona to pursue a career at Tucson Medical Center (TMC) caring for patients on their high risk antepartum and GYN unit before moving to the operating room (OR) in the fall of 2001.

While in the OR at TMC she became a Clinical Nurse Lead for Orthopedics, assisting orthopedic surgeons with the surgical needs of the many types of orthopedic procedures that were performed at TMC. She also circulated many of those surgeries such as joint replacement procedures, traumatic fractures, orthopedic oncology, spinal procedures, and corrective procedures along with continuing a well-rounded skill set to include general, urology, pediatric, thoracic and emergent procedures.

In 2006, Julia accepted an OR position at the then University Physician’s Healthcare Hospital at Kino Campus (Now University of Arizona Healthcare - South Campus) where she worked her way up from Staff RN in the OR to Department Manager of Perioperative Services. There she was responsible for managing Pre-Op Holding, the Operating Room, the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (Recovery Room), and the Endoscopy Suite.

Julia made the decision in the fall of 2010 to take her nursing career in a new direction and successfully completed her certification in legal nurse consulting from The Vickie Milazzo Institute. In February 2011 she left the hospital and opened Copperline Legal Nurse Consulting where she assists attorneys with their medically related case ranging from personal injury, medical malpractice, and general negligence, to products liability, and wrongful death. As a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, she is qualified to assist attorneys with any case where health, illness or injury is at issue.

Julia has been a resident of Tucson since July 1999 and has been married to her husband, Don for more than 10 years. Julia and Don have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren with 2 more due in the spring of 2012. They currently share their home with “the girls” Abby, their 10 year old boxer and Sugar, their 4 year old dachshund.
